Students from St Kieran's Primary School recently discovered how fun it is to actively travel to school with the launch of Active School Travel.
Every Tuesday, students and their families are encouraged to travel to school by walking, cycling, scootering and car pooling.
Each child receives a passport and gets a stamp once a week on Tuesday when they actively travel to school. The more stamps they accumulate, the more rewards they get!
Principal Mr Ben Gray said "Not only will we all arrive healthier, happier and ready to learn, the streets will be safer with fewer cars".
Active School Travel is a Brisbane City Council initiative and is one of the easiest ways to incorporate physical activity into everyday life for all children.
"Learning to move is as important as learning to read" Mr Gray said.
