Catholic Education Week Celebrations

Catholic Schools ‘‘Discover New Horizons” during

Catholic Education Week

Students and teachers from St Kieran’s Primary school and Sacred Heart Primary School joined with parents, parishioners and members of the community on Friday, 3 August to celebrate Catholic Education Week 2018.

St Kieran’s Principal Mr Ben Gray said that this annual event promotes the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools every day.

“Catholic education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our school by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society” Mr Gray said.

“At St Kieran’s we was hosted a number of fun activities that enabled our students, staff, friends and family to come together to celebrate the spirit of our school community and motto “Strength Through Caring”.

There are 304 Catholic schools in Queensland that educate around 147,000 students and employ more than 19,000 teachers and staff, and most will celebrate Catholic Education Week in some way.
