Family Fun Day

St Kieran's Catholic Primary School is set to hold its family fun day on Sunday, July 21

The St Kieran's school grounds will be overflowing with family-filled entertainment on Sunday, 21 July with their annual family fun day.

This year's event will have all the family favourites including rides for all ages, games, stalls, food hall, trash and treasure, animal petting zoo, pony rides and much more.

P&F President Mrs Emily Pritchard said the fete held last year was extremely well attended.

“We are really excited about running the Family Fun Day again in 2019 and we have so much planned for families to enjoy," she said.

“The school community is getting behind the event providing attractions, prizes for raffles and donations and it's thanks to our gold sponsors McDonald's Bracken Ridge, local Councillor Jared Cassidy, McCormacks Tyre and Suspension, Rackley Swimming, Medi Pro and Warm Discussions Cafe that we are able to have some great prizes in our Cent Auction and Art Union."

Principal Mr Ben Gray said the Family Fun Day is the biggest fundraising event for St Kieran's run by the school's Parents and Friends Association.

“The day is a great opportunity for families, friends and the local community to come together and enjoy the day out" he said.

"An attraction which will be a definite show stopper is our Dunk-a-Teacher stand" Mr Gray said.

"We have a very dedicated team of teachers who are more than willing to volunteer for this attraction and the students are very excited at the idea of being able to dunk a teacher or even the Principal."

There will also be a sideshow alley where children can win prizes, a cent auction, trash and treasure, show bags and the very popular cakes and sweets stall.

Families can purchase a delicious lunch in the food hall and enjoy performances from the school band and choir, student dances and performances from local organisations.

“There really is something for everyone and our students have been working hard preparing which promises to be a lot of fun for the whole community" Mr Gray said.

“The P & F's involvement in our school is invaluable and the funds raised from the day will go towards improvements for the school".

The gates to St Kieran's will open at 9am with rides commencing from 10am.  The school is located at 15 Greenwood Street Brighton.
