St Kieran's Primary School students will make those important steps towards a healthier future by participating in National Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 18 May 2018.
Principal Mr Ben Gray said “At St Kieran's we encourage all students and staff to stay active and 'go green' to school whenever possible and participating in National Walk Safely to School Day is a great way promote this".
“If it's a little too far to walk to school from home, we are encouraging families to park their cars a bit further away and walk their children safely to school from there".
“We will also have two 'walking school busses' supervised by our teachers for students and their families to jump on board".
Now in its 19th year, National Walk Safely to School Day is an annual event when all primary school children are encouraged to get those little legs moving and walk safely to school.
It is a community initiative that aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking to and from school can provide for the long term health of our children.
