Our School Captains recently visited the Green P Community Farm located at the Deagon Racecourse.
Green P Community Farm is an important site for people with diverse backgrounds. Among the farmers are refugees and migrants from Bhutan, Burma, the South Pacific and Nepalese cultures. It is an important place for people not just to work and grow food but to foster kinship with people around them.
At the beginning of the year, the St Kieran's staff supported the community of refugees by helping on their farm and creating a mosaic, which is now proudly on display on the shed wall.
Principal Mr Ben Gray said "As a community, a sense of caring, concern and responsibility towards others is fostered in all students at St Kieran's".
"We are committed to social justice projects that work towards creating a better society for us all", he said.
