​Welcome to the St Kieran’s Primary School website. Our school community provides high quality inclusive Catholic education for children from Prep to Year 6 in a co-educational setting. We are proud of our caring, welcoming atmosphere which is reflected in our school motto – Strength through Caring.

At St Kieran’s Primary School we are a child-centred Catholic faith community where there is excellence in teaching and learning and where we value the development of the whole child and ensure every student progresses and grows academically, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

Vision St Kieran's Catholic Primary School is committed to ​providing a faith-filled learning environment.  In the spirit of Saint Kieran we strive for a culture of growth, generosity and belonging as part of an inclusive community.

Mission  We encourage students to have a growth mindset so that they achieve their potential and become life long learners.  Together we value the role each member of our school community plays.  Founded by the Canossian Sisters we continue to reflect their values​ by giving our best, having courage, doing the small things well, working as a team and never giving up.  We live our motto, "Strength Through Caring" so that our students become successful members of society.​​

Catholic Education Weekhttp://www.stkieranbrighton.qld.edu.au/featured-news/Pages/Catholic-Education-Week.aspxCatholic Education Week<p>St Kieran's recently celebrated Catholic Education Week (25-31 July) where all Catholic schools across Queensland celebrated and highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools every day.</p><p>The theme for this year's celebrations is "A Spirited​ Tomorrow".  The theme acknowledges the long tradition of Catholic education and its continued relevance in preparing students for the future.</p><p>Catholic education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider community by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society.</p><p>There are 309 Catholic schools in Queensland with 146 of those being Brisbane Catholic Education schools.  Across these 146 schools, BCE educates more than 76,000 students and employs more than 12,500 teachers and staff.</p><p>St Kieran's joined with the students from Sacred Heart to celebrate Catholic Education Week.<br></p><p><img src="/featured-news/SiteAssets/Pages/Catholic-Education-Week/CEW.JPG" alt="CEW.jpg" style="margin:5px;width:566px;" />​<br></p><p>​<br><br></p>
Nala The School Dog http://www.stkieranbrighton.qld.edu.au/featured-news/Pages/A-Spectacular-Celebration-of-Colour-Ends-Naplan-Testing.aspxNala The School Dog <h2>St Kieran's Introduces New Staff Member​<br></h2><p><br></p><p>The students and staff​ at St Kieran's are delighted to welcome their new staff member, Nala the school dog.</p><p>Due to their calming and joyful effect on student and teacher welfare when integrated into school life, dogs trained for the school environment are often referred to as miracle workers.</p><p>Principal Mr Ben Gray said he was keen to invite a dog into St Kieran's for its 310 students from Prep to Year 6.</p><p>"There is a great deal of research to suggest that dogs have a positive effect in a school environment", he said.</p><p>"At St Kieran's, wellbeing is a priority, and a school dog like Nala, who adores a pat, is likel to bring smiles to our students and staff.</p><p><img src="/featured-news/SiteAssets/Pages/A-Spectacular-Celebration-of-Colour-Ends-Naplan-Testing/Narla.jpg" alt="Narla.jpg" style="margin:5px;width:566px;" /><br><br></p><p><br><br><br></p>
