​Welcome to the St Kieran’s Primary School website. Our school community provides high quality inclusive Catholic education for children from Prep to Year 6 in a co-educational setting. The Mission of St Kieran's School is to assist the growth of each person, as a follower of Christ, spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Day for Danielhttp://www.stkieranbrighton.qld.edu.au/featured-news/Pages/Day-for-Daniel.aspxDay for Daniel<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>​St Kieran's Students support Day for Daniel on Friday</strong></p><p>The 14th annual Day for Daniel 2018 will be held on Friday the 26th October.</p><p>The Day for Daniel is a National Day of Action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention.</p><p>It is about educating children and adults about keeping kids safe through child safety and protection initiatives.  </p><p>It aims to help empower children to Recognise, React and Report if they feel something is not right.</p><p>Wear Red and Educate is the theme of for Day for Daniel and schools, kindergartens, businesses and communities across Australia will take action and conduct child safety activities in their local communities to help in Keeping Kids Safe.</p><p>The students and staff of St Kieran's Primary School in Brighton will wear red and undertake a variety of classroom activities to educate students about personal safety.</p><p>“This very important initiative enables us as educators to raise awareness about child safety and protection while honouring the memory of Daniel Morcombe" said Principal Mr Ben Gray.</p><p>Day for Daniel is also an opportunity for all Australians to make a statement that crimes against children are not acceptable in modern Australia.<br></p><p>​</p>

Each year, the St Kieran's community supports the Catholic Mission's Socktober project to raise awareness of social issues such as poverty, child labour and homelessness.<br>This year we will be holding a Crazy Sock Day on Thursday, 18 October and encourage all students to pull on their wacky socks and bring a gold coin to help us create a giant sock outlined in coins.​<br></p><p>​</p>
Samsung Primary Schools Netball Cuphttp://www.stkieranbrighton.qld.edu.au/featured-news/Pages/Samsung-Primary-Schools-Netball-Cup.aspxSamsung Primary Schools Netball Cup<p style="text-align:center;"><a href="https://www.glasshouse.qld.edu.au/endless-energy-from-netball-teams/">Endless Energy from St Kieran's Netball Team</a><br></p><p>If you wanted a fine example of team work and tenacity you need look no further than the St Kieran's Primary School Netball team who play 11 games of netball at the Samsung Primary Schools Cup in Bundaberg last weekend.</p><p>The competition was huge with over 100 teams from all over Queensland playing in 20 round robin pools. </p><p>After day one, teams were ranked into six divisions for the second day of games to ensure each team could play opposition more similar in ability.</p><p>St Kieran's improved with each game played and in the last game of day two, they were all on fire. </p><p>The ball was passed quickly down court and goals were scored resulting in a very exciting win for the team who beat Woongarra State School seven goals to three. </p><p>Principal Mr Ben Gray said “They kept up their determination in every game even when legs were aching and bodies were asking for a rest in the hot Bundaberg conditions".</p><p>" I really couldn't ask for any more from the team, they gave it their all".   </p><p>“This was the first time St Kieran's competed at this event and a great opportunity for the students who displayed outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork" Mr Gray said.</p><p>St Kieran's finished the carnival with 4 wins and finished fourth in their Division 4 pool.</p><p>The Samsung Primary Schools Cup is a Netball Queensland initiative open to all primary schools in Queensland for students in grades four to six.</p><p>The two-day event provides an opportunity for girls and boys to come together and experience competitive netball in a fun and safe environment, with an overall state champion crowned at the end of the tournament.​<br></p>
